Sunshine Coast Region

Climate

The subtropical Sunshine Coast region enjoys an average of 7 hours each day of warm sunshine - one of the highest averages in the world – and year round warm temperatures. It also has comparatively high rainfall and humidity, ideal for its lush green landscapes. In summer the temperature ranges from 17 to 30 degrees Celsius and in winter from between 8 and 22 degrees Celsius.

How to Get Here

The Sunshine Coast is a 1.5 hour drive from Brisbane city centre and 2 hours from the Gold Coast and getting to and from the region is clearly signposted along the national Bruce Highway.

Coach and Bus Services

Daily coach services connect towns within the region and externally to all Australian capital cities and other Queensland destinations.

Train

Train services run regularly into Nambour from Brisbane with Sunbus connections to hinterland towns and throughout the Sunshine Coast.

Air

The Sunshine Coast Airport is a scenic 10 minute drive to the region’s CBD and provides direct flights daily to and from Sydney, Melbourne and daily commuter flights from Brisbane. Shuttle buses meet all flights and provide door to door services to most accommodation.
