Cricket

Background:

Cricket has developed many strong traditions here at Grammar. Outstanding opportunities exist for our students (Prep through to Year 12) and school teams of all ages have enjoyed considerable success since Grammar opened its doors back in 1997.

Competitions:

  • Our First XI and Intermediate Team (Years 7-9) compete in state wide T20 Knockout competition
  • Our First XI compete in the preseason St Andrews Cup
  • Our Primary boys team compete in the National T20 Knockout (final played at the MCG)
  • Our Primary 5-6 girls team compete in the National T20 Knockout (final played at the MCG)
  • Our Intermediate girls team compete in the National T20 Knockout (final played at the MCG)
  • Our First XI, Intermediate and Year 7 side play numerous tour games against schools from interstate and overseas during the school year

Tours:

Every four years Grammar takes two sides on tour to the United Kingdom. Fixtures are played against some of the finest schools and clubs in the UK. Students enjoy Wimbledon, St Andrews, Manchester United and an array of sightseeing opportunities while on tour.

Grammar have toured in 2001, 2005, 2009, 2013 and July 2017.

First XI – Josh Matthews

Recent Successes:

  • Grammar’s First XI have won numerous regional championships and have been State Champions and State Finalists. Last season they were Regional Runners-up. Currently they are the St Andrews Cup champions.
  • Grammar Intermediate team are the current Regional Champions and State Semi Finalists.
  • Grammar Primary Boys are Regional Champions and State Finalists.
  • Grammar Secondary Girls are Regional Champions and State Finalists.

Fees:

U11 Friday Night $200

U11 – U16 Saturday morning $260
