Cross Country

Students have a number of opportunities to excel in cross country at Grammar. Along with swimming and athletics it is one of our school’s tradition carnivals held every year. Cross country is held on our school course and is fiercely competed for by our four houses. Both secondary and primary students have enjoyed great successes in cross country.

Apart from providing pathways for our serious athletes, a major focus for our carnivals is fun, participation and encouraging students to contribute to their house.

Students who are selected to represent the school then compete at the Independent District Carnival. From here students follow a pathway through from Regional to State Championships and then and National Championships.

A number of talented runners also compete in the Queensland All Schools Carnival in Brisbane.

School representative teams exist in both the secondary and the primary school and compete at the Independent District carnival.

Recent Successes:

Grammar has been very fortunate to have many extremely talented athletes throughout its history with a large number of students competing all the way through to national level every year.
