It has been another successful year for debating at Sunshine Coast Grammar School, with three top teams looking to secure a win in the final round of the 2017 University of the Sunshine Coast Schools Debating Competition next Wednesday evening, October 18 at the USC Innovation Centre.
The Senior Division Final will be an all Grammar affair with the dynamic Year 11 team taking on the more experienced Year 12 side. Additionally in the Junior Division, the Grammar Year 7 team will prepare to fight it out in their first-ever final.
Teacher in Charge of Debating at Sunshine Coast Grammar School, Mrs Meg Dunstan said that teams will be given a secret topic on the evening and will have one hour to prepare their response.
“The debates in the semi-finals were of an exceptionally high standard so prepare to be blown away,” said Meg Dunstan.
More than 100 teams from as far as Rothwell in the south to Noosa in the north participated in the 2017 competition.
