Classrooms : Pre Prep 1

Pre Prep 1 is designed specifically for 3 to 4 year olds. It is perfect for children who will be sharing their journey with us for a total of two years before they progress on to Prep.

Our Pre-Prep program includes:

• Daily numeracy sessions
• Daily literacy sessions
• Weekly Music lessons with Miss Annie from Sunshine Coast Grammar School
• Sporty Tots
• Weekly Library visits
• Rostered computer time for every child

By the end of the PP1 year the children will be well on their way to achieving the following:

Socially and Emotionally:

• How to separate confidently from their family
• How to socialise in a group setting
• How to take turns and share
• How to negotiate with peers
• Develop long term friendships with peers
• How to express themselves verbally and emotionally in a group setting
• Developing a healthy self esteem
• Developing independence

Physically:

• Developing eye hand co-ordination
  
• Developing a pencil grasp
  
• Strengthening fine and gross motor skills

Literacy and Numeracy:

• Recognition of all Letterland characters
  
• Beginning to write their first name
  
• Being exposed to a variety of books and text through our weekly library visits and classroom storytelling
  
• Discriminating size, shape and colour
  
• Matching and sorting
  
• Recognising Numbers 0-10

Technology:

• Developing basic computer skills
