Co-Curricular at SCGS

Sunshine Coast Grammar provides a wide range of co-curricular activities as an integral part of the educational experience. Such activities cater for students' diverse abilities and offer them the chance to form life-long interests outside the academic field.
Students are encouraged to be involved in extensive music, outdoor, choir, language, art, drama and public speaking programs. The School also offers students a variety of opportunities to participate in extensive travel programs where students can experience many countries of the world.
Sunshine Coast Grammar School is conscious of the importance of providing opportunities for students to experience links with sister schools in Japan and Canada. Our willingness to facilitate extra-curricular and co-curricular e.g. Optiminds, enrichment classes, etc., is testament to our "Strength of Purpose" in providing all members of our school family a place of learning where academic, sporting and cultural attainment are each valued.
The purpose of the co-curricular program at SCGS is to
-
Offer an opportunity to students to contribute to the growth of the community, as well as receive its benefits, and
-
Provide the opportunity for students and teachers to build relationships based on a broader and deeper understanding and appreciation of each other than is possible in the formal classroom situation.
These factors lead to an improved community spirit and the building of a tradition of which to be proud.
