SCGS Rugby Club

Netball is Australia’s most popular team sport for women and girls with over half a million registered players taking to the court each week. It is a fast and exciting game that can be played by people of all ages and ability.
The SCGS Netball program comprises four main areas…
Secondary SCISSA
Two teams each at Year 8, Year 9, Year 10 and Years 11 / 12 levels compete in regular fixtures as part of the Friday afternoon school sport’s program against other Sunshine Coast Independent Schools.
Primary SCISSA
Teams at Years 4, 5, 6 and 7 levels compete in regular fixtures as part of the Thursday afternoon primary school sport’s program against other Sunshine Coast Independent Schools.
Grammar Lions Netball Club
Teams comprising players from 8 years and above compete in regular weekly fixtures at Sunshine Coast Netball Association, Fisherman’s Road, Maroochydore.
Junior and Cadet divisions compete on Saturday mornings with Senior women’s playing on Tuesday evenings. In 2007 fifteen teams will compete under the Grammar Lions umbrella.
Other – These may include:
- Vicki Wilson and Primary School’s Cup competitions.
- Fun Net – For players aged 5 to 7 years. This will be held at SCNA.
- Net Set GO! – A skills based program from 5 years.
- Primary and Secondary SCISSA Zone Netball – Zone trials with other SCISSA schools for the purpose of gaining representation on Sunshine Coast Regional teams, later competing at State and possible national level championships.
- Interhouse Netball – In its inaugural year, it is anticipated that this competition will be held during the months of July / August. Students will be encouraged to participate in gaining valuable ‘House’ points.
- School visits – From time to time SCGS is asked to assist with school visits. These may be local or from interstate or even overseas schools.
