Bradman House

Bradman House

Bradman house is named after the greatest Australian cricketer of all time, Sir Donald Bradman. We are proud to be named after such a popular Australian sporting icon and a great ambassador of the game.

Donald Bradman was born in Cootamundra, NSW on August 27, 1903. He was keen on sport as a youngster and went on to have an outstanding cricketing career which spanned nearly 20 years. He retired from professional cricket in 1948 with a career average of 99.94 runs in Test matches.

Sir Donald died on February 25th 2001.
In one of the few interviews Sir Donald had given since he retired from professional cricket he was asked what he would most like to be remembered for and he replied, “If I had to put it in one word? Integrity”.

Bradman House Philosophy

Our house motto is “Determined to Succeed”. All Bradman members are committed to setting goals and working to achieve them. Whether they be individual, form class, house or school goals. We place equal emphasis on the importance of academic, sporting, social and spiritual goals and believe that the important part of trip is the journey not the destination.

We believe:

“The most important thing … is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well.”

The Olympic Creed

Bradman Bulldogs

Bradman’s house colour is forest green representing the cricket green on which Sir Donald Bradman played. We also have incorporated white into our banner and badges.

Bradman’s mascot is the bulldog because they are tenacious and determined. Bulldogs are also loyal, gentle and sincere.
