Grammar established itself as a School of Excellence in Tennis in 2005 and, since then, has built an enviable reputation at the local, state and national levels.
Grammar have been very fortunate to have Head Coach, Mr Clint Fyfe and his wonderful coaching team based here at the school to provide an outstanding level of tuition for players of all abilities.
Grammar fields teams in the local SCTA competition which is played on Saturday mornings. We also field teams in the All-Schools Secondary Tennis competition [Term 2], the National Teams Tennis knockout competition [Term 3] and the Brisbane International Schools Challenge [Term 4].
Grammar normally fields at least 10 teams across the five divisions of the Saturday SCTA competition. These provide for entry-level to elite players. We field teams in both ‘A’ and ‘B’ grade of the inter-schools’ competitions.
Apart from dominating the regional rounds of National Teams tennis for the last decade, Grammar has also performed creditably at the Brisbane International Schools Challenge. At his competition, which is limited to primary-age players, Grammar finished in the top eight teams on numerous occasions.
Tennis School of Excellence:
The School of Excellence program is designed for elite tennis players. Students are able to train during school hours, which helps them manage their study and tennis requirements of a modern elite tennis player.
