Volleyball

Background:

Volleyball is a very popular Grammar sport, with eight teams participating in the SCISSA competition in 2016. Since the completion of our outstanding indoor sports facility (Grammar Hall), the standard and interest in Volleyball has risen sharply and we hope this trend continues in 2017.

Competitions:

Secondary students have the opportunity to represent the school in the SCISSA competition in Term 1 of each year. Fixtures take place Wednesday afternoons with games being held at various venues at either 4.00pm or 4.45pm.

IN 2017 we will be entering teams in the Trish Buckley Volleyball competition, an All Schools competition involving Friday afternoon and evening fixtures.

Teams:

SCISSA Secondary

  • Junior boys and girls (Year 7 and 8)
  • Intermediate boys and girls (Year 9 and 10)
  • Senior boys and girls (Year 11 and 12)

Trish Buckley Volleyball competition, to be confirmed.

Recent Successes:

While the focus for our volleyball teams is on enjoyment and skill development, Grammar teams have featured in many SCISSA finals and secured premierships in the Intermediate “A” competitions for both girls and boys in 2016.
