Grammar Equestrian Team jumps into the national championships

Sunshine Coast Grammar School’s Equestrian Team’s successful competition season has culminated with three students selected to ride at the 2022 National Interschool Equestrian Championships.

Amelia Bobyreff (Year 9), Jett Biffin (Year 4), and Charlotte Ritchie (Year 2) will be heading to the Sydney International Equestrian Centre in September and will compete in Eventing, Show Jumping, and Combined Training.

Amelia Bobyreff, who will be competing in Eventing is most looking forward to riding alongside some of the best equestrians in the country.

‘Riding at a national level will be a great experience for me. I’d love to compete at the Olympics one day.’

The national selections are off the back of a successful competition season with the Grammar Equestrian Team winning the Interschool Queensland Wide Bay Championships in June and achieving outstanding results at the recent Interschool State Championships in Toowoomba where Cassidy Sullivan (Year 7) was crowned State Champion.

Jett Biffin, who recently placed fourth in the Primary Show Jumping at the State Championships in Toowoomba is excited to be representing Queensland at the upcoming Championships.

‘Show Jumping is my favourite discipline. It feels like I am flying with my horse Panda.’

Grammar’s Equestrian Team continues to grow from strength to strength with all of its riders consistently displaying discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

The dedication and enthusiasm each rider shows is commendable and we are excited to watch our Equestrian Team represent Grammar with passion and pride at the upcoming national championships.

Good luck, team!
