Sunshine Coast Grammar School is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Year 11 students Alice K and Caitlin G, who were named runners-up in the 2025 Generation Innovation (GI) Challenge for their visionary product, Dignity Wash. The revolutionary product is a body wash mist designed to support hygiene and dignity when traditional facilities aren’t available.

The idea was sparked while preparing for the school’s Timor Leste Global Awareness and Servant Leadership tour. As they considered how they would stay clean during the trip, a deeper question emerged: How are the people living there keeping clean?

During the tour, they witnessed firsthand the challenges of water scarcity and the impact it has on daily life. With 1.4 million lives lost annually due to inadequate water, sanitation and poor hygiene, the need for practical solutions became clear.

“The problem we want to solve is helping people keep their dignity through hygiene, especially when proper facilities aren’t available. Our goal is to bring hygiene and dignity to people all over the world.”

Representing Sunshine Coast Grammar with pride and purpose, Alice and Caitlin delivered an outstanding pitch at the Final Pitch and Awards Ceremony, earning $2,000 in prize money and widespread praise from judges and attendees. Their product, Dignity Wash, offers a practical solution for individuals and communities facing barriers to hygiene. The product works wet or dry to help people stay clean, quickly and easily.

“We care about people and the planet, and we are excited about the prospect of partnering with those who care about this as much as we do,” shared Alice and Caitlin.

Also among the top 10 finalists was Year 10 student Sophie E, whose innovative business idea Xpression captured attention for its compassionate design. The product is a digital wristband designed to help neurodivergent children identify and communicate their emotions more effectively. While Sophie didn't advance to the final three, reaching the finals is a tremendous achievement.

Sunshine Coast Grammar School congratulates Alice, Caitlin and Sophie on this well-deserved recognition and the impact they have already made with their products. Their work is a powerful example of leadership in action, and we look forward to seeing where their vision takes them next.
