Six talented student athletes from Sunshine Coast Grammar School proudly presented Queensland at the School Sport Australia Aquatic Games last week, returning with a haul of nine medals, including three gold, and the prestigious Sportsmanship Award.

Representing Queensland across swimming and diving events, six Grammar students competed against top talent from each state and territory and a visiting team from Fiji.

The national competition, held at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre, offered a high-performance platform for emerging athletes and Grammar’s student-athletes delivered standout results and gained valuable experience.

Queensland Swimming Captain and Year 12 student Grace Brimelow led the charge, winning Gold in the 100m Freestyle Multi-Class and Bronze in the 200m Freestyle Multi-Class. Grace was also honoured with the Sportsmanship Award for her leadership and team spirit.

Amelia Holder (Year 9) and Freya Goldston (Year 11) also delivered outstanding results, claiming two Silver and a Gold across three events.

In diving, Teagan Stafford (Year 8) also delivered a solid performance, achieving Gold, Silver and Bronze across three diving events.

Director of Swimming and Head Coach Luke Stafford praised the students’ preparation and performance.

“All athletes trained with incredible discipline in the lead-up to the Games. Their performances reflect their talent, dedication and resilience, as well as the strength of our coaching program and the support behind our athletes,” said Mr Stafford.

Sunshine Coast Grammar School congratulates all students and coaching staff on their achievements. These results highlight the school’s commitment to excellence in sport and the value of teamwork, leadership and perseverance.
