Our students and staff were excited to unite over the weekend as part of the School's service leadership program, joining forces with Bloomhill Cancer Care and supporting a local in need at our annual Backyard Blitz.
For over 16 years, the School has proudly collaborated with Bloomhill Cancer Care and has worked together to support families navigating cancer.
This year, staff and students, together with generous support from local business Coastal Landscape Supplies, rallied together to transform the outdoor space of a local facing hardship. The team tackled everything from mowing and mulching to painting and pressure-washing, creating a refreshed and welcoming backyard.
The service leadership program, Grammar Helping Hands, led by Mr Ben Princehorn, Coordinator of Community and Service, continues to inspire students to engage meaningfully with their community.
“Our students recognise the importance of social responsibility and actively engage in initiatives throughout the year like the Backyard Blitz to support our community,” said Mr Princehorn.
The partnership with Bloomhill Cancer Care aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), reinforcing the School’s dedication to nurturing socially conscious and environmental changemakers.
Through giving their time and energy, students throughout the School develop a strong sense of community engagement and build empathy for those less fortunate.
“The Backyard Blitz is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when compassion meets action. As a school, we are passionate about equipping our students with the tools to make a positive difference in the world, “ said Mr Princehorn.
