We proudly hosted the inaugural Patron’s Cup this month against Brisbane Grammar School, in what proved to be a remarkable day of rugby and community spirit.

The occasion was marked by a special pre-match tradition with each Grammar mother presenting her child with their jersey. Players then returned the gesture with a red rose, reflecting the strength of family support behind each player.

The First XV clash delivered an exciting and closely contested match, with it finishing in a dramatic 31–31 draw. The U16 team demonstrated resilience and composure against a strong Brisbane Grammar outfit, while our U18 Girls 7s team produced an outstanding performance to earn a well-deserved victory against Matthew Flinders Anglican College.

Our Principal, Mrs Anna Owen, reflected on the strength of the program, sharing her pride in its continued growth.

“It is inspiring to see the way our Rugby Academy is evolving, particularly the strong culture and opportunities being created for both our boys and girls to thrive.”

Our Patron, Gordon Bray AM, also praised the passion and dedication displayed on the field, describing the occasion as one of the most memorable grassroots rugby experiences of his distinguished journey.

We extend our gratitude to Gordon Bray AM for his contribution and commitment as our Rugby Academy Patron, and we look forward to his ongoing involvement in shaping the next generation of Grammar rugby talent.

A special thank you to our Rugby Support Group, sponsors and staff, whose generous support ensures that our players have the opportunity to grow, compete and succeed at the highest level. It was a memorable day for our rugby community, and we look forward to building on this tradition in the years ahead.
