Grammar Tennis continues to thrive under the leadership of Head Coach, Mr Clint Fyfe, whose commitment to the performance and personal growth of our student-athletes has shaped a program that is inclusive and progressive.
Student-athlete development is driven by a commitment to excellence, both on the court and in the classroom. With a proud tradition of nurturing talent, the program offers two purposeful pathways: Development and Performance.
The Development Pathway provides structured coaching for students passionate about tennis and eager to improve. Emphasis is placed on technical growth, strategic play, and confidence-building, with opportunities to compete at intra- and interschool levels.
The Performance Pathway supports highly competitive players pursuing state, national, or international goals. Athletes benefit from high-performance coaching, match analysis, and strength and conditioning programs aligned with professional standards. Academic balance is prioritised, with guidance in tournament planning and ranking management.
Grammar Tennis has consistently been represented at regional, state and national levels for the past ten years, including national finalists at primary and secondary school teams’ events. These achievements reflect the athletic talent and the program’s culture, discipline and teamwork.
For students seeking collegiate opportunities abroad, Grammar Tennis partners with Study and Play USA to provide tailored support in recruitment, profiling and academic preparation. Notably, eight students have advanced to U.S. college tennis programs, combining their passion for elite sport with further education.
The legacy of Grammar Tennis extends beyond competitive success, with a number of alumni pursuing formal coaching qualifications, including Talent Development with Tennis Queensland and Tennis Australia.
With a holistic approach to coaching, wellbeing and academic support, Grammar Tennis empowers every student to pursue their personal best, whether through competition, scholarship, or lifelong enjoyment of the game.
“Our goal is to develop skilled tennis players who are resilient, thoughtful individuals who understand the value of discipline, teamwork and personal growth,” – Head Coach, Mr Clint Fyfe.
