Sunshine Coast Grammar Swimming Club has delivered an outstanding performance at the Wide Bay Short Course Championships last weekend, finishing as the overall champion club and taking home the prestigious overall point score title.
The club’s success extended across all categories, also securing first place in both the boys and girls point score competitions.
Competing against more than 30 clubs from across the Wide Bay region, the club’s 59 swimmers achieved exceptional results, collecting:
- 72 gold medals
- 52 silver medals
- 30 bronze medals
- 97 top 10 finishes
The result represents one of the club’s strongest performances and builds on a history of consistent success at the regional and national championships.
Head Coach, Luke Stafford, said the achievement was a reflection of the commitment shown by the swimmers and coaches throughout the season.
"We're incredibly proud of this result and the way our swimmers competed throughout the championships. The results reflect the hard work of our swimmers and coaches throughout the season,” said Luke.
With momentum continuing to build, the club will now focus on preparations for the Queensland Short Course Championships next month, where swimmers will have the opportunity to test themselves against the state’s competitors.
