Sunshine Coast Grammar School is proud to announce the remarkable achievements of its rugby athletes, with two students securing their place in the prestigious Under 18 Australian School Rugby Squad.
In recent years, ten Grammar student-athletes have been selected in the Australian School Rugby squad and four have been selected in the Barbarian’s squad, reflecting the strength and consistency of the school’s Rugby Academy, reflecting the strength and consistency of the school’s Rugby Academy.
The exceptional young athletes, Adrian De Klerk and Rohan Nichol, are integral members of the Grammar Rugby Academy and have vast experience representing the school and our region, including the Queensland Reds. Their hard work, resilience and commitment have earned them a coveted spot in the national squad.
Head Coach of Grammar Rugby, Mr Troy Atkins, expressed his pride in the students' achievements, stating, “Our Rugby program places a strong emphasis on discipline, persistence, and the continual pursuit of personal growth. Adrian and Rohan have continually shown outstanding skill, as well as the coachability and mindset required to develop as elite athletes.”
As our Grammar rugby athletes prepare to compete later this month, we wish them every success and look forward to following their journey in the Australian jersey.

Together with the new Ambassadorship with Gordon Bray AM (The Voice of Rugby) and renowned coaching staff, including former All Blacks player Hosea Gear, Grammar’s Rugby Academy is poised to become a premier institution for Rugby training and development for both male and female athletes.
