CLUB NIGHT
Club night allows swimmers to participate in a friendly and competitive environment. It provides an opportunity to practice their race skills and compete under race conditions.
Club night is typically held on Friday nights during term 4 and term 1 . Swimmers are organised into races based on their ability. It is encouraged that younger athletes start with shorter distances such as 25m and 50m events. Before progressing to longer distances swimmers must be able to swim their current distance under a specific time.
During the season volunteer assistance is required for time keeping, marshalling, barbequing and other official duties. The more who are involved, the smoother the night can run and the more fun we can have!
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
All swimmers who take part in club championship events will accumulate points towards various awards which are presented at the end of the season. You must be a member of the club in order to participate in championship events. Non-championship participation events are still run on these nights so that our younger athletes still have the chance to race over shorter distances.
Championship events are swum in all four strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle) and also include a distance and individual medley championship night.
