Sunshine Coast Grammar School is excited to announce the appointment of tennis ace, Clint Fyfe as the new Head Tennis Coach.
Clint has spent the past four years working with Tennis Australia as their Queensland Talent Development Manager and Talent Performance Coach. During his time in these positions, the playing groups he was responsible for became the strongest in the country.
Prior to these roles, Clint owned and operated one of the most successful tennis coaching and tennis centre management companies in Australia.
A High Performance Tennis Coach, Clint won the 2013 prestigious Newcombe Medal for Talent Development Coaching Excellence. He has also won four Queensland Coaching Excellence Awards and coached numerous state teams.
Clint’s coaching record across the pathway from beginners to performance players is admirable. He is excited by the challenge of working in a school environment as he believes school programs should be a key component of the participation and performance strategy for Australian tennis.
“I strongly believe school-based tennis programs are the optimal way to develop elite players while at the same time maximising wellbeing and educational outcomes,” said Mr Fyfe.
“I look forward to delivering a sustainable comprehensive tennis program and holistic ‘child to champion’ pathway through my position as Head Tennis Coach at Sunshine Coast Grammar School.”
Principal at Sunshine Coast Grammar School Mrs Maria Woods believes this appointment is a great match for the School.
“Clint’s expert knowledge, attitude and skills will be instrumental in building on the strong foundation already established and further develop the Tennis School of Excellence Program at the School,” said Mrs Woods.
Over the past decade Clint has also be responsible for delivering workshops and presentations for coaches at a state and national level including at the Australian Open Grand Slam Coaches Conference, the largest gathering of industry professionals in the Asia Pacific.
“I am humbled by this opportunity to become a part of the community and can’t wait to share my knowledge and passion for tennis while developing a strong team culture.
While Clint’s previous work has taken him across the country, his family currently reside on the Sunshine Coast, so this position will allow him to spend more time closer to home.
Clint is set to commence as Head Tennis Coach at Sunshine Coast Grammar on Thursday, 29 November.
