Grammar student presented with Queensland Jersey Ahead of Inaugural Super W Rugby Comp

Up and coming Rugby star and Sunshine Coast Grammar School student, Georgia Flood has been selected for the Queensland Under 19 Super W Rugby Team.

This is the first year Super W Teams have introduced the Under 19 squads and is a great insight into how Rugby is growing in popularity amongst girls and women.

“Women’s representation in Rugby is definitely growing and I’m so excited at the prospect of a career in Rugby for me and other women in the near future,” said Georgia.

Georgia has been playing Rugby for four years and has represented Brisbane in numerous campaigns since she was in Year 8.

“What I enjoy most about Rugby is the feeling of being in a team and knowing all the girls have your back”, said Georgia.

Georgia has been travelling to Brisbane twice a week for training and has played with her teammates against the Waratahs and Brumbies, with head-hunters from the Women’s Queensland Wallaroos team present at both games.

Whilst juggling her Rugby and school commitments, Georgia is also studying a Certificate III in Fitness, with a future career in women’s Rugby on the horizon.

“I want to continue to play Rugby after graduating from Grammar next year and hope to play for Australia one day”, said Georgia.
